Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
Absolutely wonderful late 1940s Chief Wahoo gold tooth bank by Stanford Pottery is a fabulous memento from the era of the Cleveland Indians' last World Series title. Porcelain beauty dates back over 60 years to when flamboyant owner Bill Veeck fashioned a team led by playing manager Lou Boudreau to the top of the baseball world with a win over the Boston Braves in the 1948 fall classic. The single gold tooth on the right side of the mouth is as vibrant as all of the other colors in this magnificent 8-inch tall creation which remains in truly outstanding condition with no significant flaws to report and "Stanford Pottery, Sebring, Ohio" stamped on the bottom of the base.
