Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
Wondrous vintage baseball equipment lot features a solid and very heavy Spalding bat, a handmade baseball from the early 1900s, and a pair of black leather cleats which appear to date from the 1930s. The solid and massive Spalding 125-S model bat weights a staggering 40 ounces, worthy of the Babe himself! It remains crack-free despite its obviously extensive use. “Spalding 125-S” is stamped low on the barrel and the Spalding logo is etched in the bottom of the knob. The fascinating baseball from the dawn of the 20th century is an amazing relic from the early game, a lightweight wonder with a much softer feel than a modern hardball. Tri-cornered metal spikes are attached to the front and heel of the soles of the pair of well-worn black leather baseball cleats that complete this lot, an instant early baseball shrine!
