Expos greats Tim Raines and Tim Wallach each signed both of these team-signed baseballs covered with ballpoint autographs of the 1985 and 1988 editions, respectively, of Montreal's ill-fated major league team. Charlie Lea, Bill Gullickson and Jeff Reardon are among the stars who signed the 1985 ball signed by 18. Andres Galarraga, Dennis Martinez and Hubie Brooks are featured on the ball autographed by 23 members of the 1988 Expos. Please see our website description for more information about this pair of 1980s team-signed Expos baseballs. Our consignor collected these Expos signatures at spring training as well as at autograph signing shows. In addition to Raines and Wallach, others who have signed both baseballs include beloved Expos manager Buck Rodgers, who has signed each ball on the panel on the sweet spot, as well as Mitch Webster, Bryn Smith and Joe Hesketh. The 1985 ball is a Rawlings “Feeney” NL baseball which displays light toning. It is also signed by Nicosia, Barnes, Newman, Driessen, Butera, Hesketh, Washington, Palmer, O’Connor and coach Bearnarth. The 1988 ball is a Rawlings NL baseball with toning that is more pronounced on the panels above and to the left of league president A. Bartlett Giamatti’s facsimile signature. It is also signed by coaches Winkles, Hansen and Macha, as well as McGaffigan, Rivera, Santovenia, Hudler, Burke, Reed, Nixon, Fitzgerald, Barrett, Parrett and Paredes.
