Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
“Radically Canadian” patch on the right breast of this Duane Forde 1998 Calgary Stampeders game-worn jersey celebrates the CFL’s return to its patriotic roots in the wake of the pro league’s short-lived American expansion experiment. Starter tagging on the front left tail has size “46” and “Long” flag tags on the right side. A “98” season set patch is sewn to the left and a Starter size XL flag tag remains in the neck. Surname is spelled out in red and black vinyl letters heat pressed onto a sewn-on nameplate. Wear shows in a number of small team repairs on the shoulders; we count four on the top of the right sleeve cuff, and two more on top, including one in the “3” in the #34, and four more small sewing fixes on the left shoulder. More game wear shows in marks around the sleeves/shoulders. The tails have a faint pinkish hue, more pronounced on the front, from bleeding that does not diminish this Stampeders gamer’s display.
