Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
This impressive ensemble of press pins only given to members of the media covering the Canadian Football League's championship game date back to the 1973 Grey Cup in Toronto. That one saw Ottawa beat Edmonton 22-18. A run of six pins, meanwhile, begins in 1976 with the pins recalling how the Grey Cup game switched back and forth between Toronto and Montreal. Hoisting the Grey Cup in those years were the Ottawa Rough Riders, Montreal Alouettes, and then from 1978 to 1981, the dynasty Edmonton Eskimos who made it five straight in '82. Pins measure approximately 1" by 1-1/4" and are in gorgeous near mint condition. Great pieces of Canadiana not often offered will excite CFL enthusiasts.
