Intriguing, high quality, eye-catching enameled pendant is dated 1914 and also reads: "Argonaut Assault At Arms." Above the boat are the letters "ARC", with "Pull Together" on the nearby blue banner. The Argonaut Rowing Club of Toronto took the two blue colors from uniforms worn by Oxford and Cambridge University rowers, the most renowned in the world, and it was the Argonaut Rowing Club that founded the football Argonauts in 1873. The Argos won football's Grey Cup in 1914, beating the Toronto Varsity Blues 14-2. Stamped on the back of the immaculate pendant is "Ryrie", the name of a Toronto jeweler.
