Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011

Groovy bright colors strike the beholder of this nifty, thick cardboard sign with easel back still intact that promoted taking the train to the Canadian football Grey Cup Classic. Measuring 14-1/2" by almost 20", the swell display has a few scratches/scrapes and a chip in the lower left corner, with our consignor informing that it is from 1955. It would have been a majestic train ride, since the game was played at Vancouver's Empire Stadium and marked the first time a title game was played west of Ontario, with a record crowd of 39,417 watching the Eskimos beat the Alouettes 34-19.
