Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011

This scarce, single-bout road gamer worn by superstar Q-back Doug Flutie versus Hamilton dates back to the 1997 Grey Cup winning season. Flutie added a bold marker signature to the back of this Starter-made affair, just off to the side of the namebar. The jersey reveals "HAM" written on inside hem which stands for Hamilton and this feature has been validated by the Argos equipment manager who confirms his handwriting and adds that this is a game-worn jersey worn in one of the two road games against the Cats in 1997, played on July 6th (won 20-15) and September 1st (won 46-3). We have a 1996-97 season photo of Flutie wearing a jersey with the Radically Canadian patch affixed slightly over the Argos patch on the shoulder in what could possibly be to be a photo match. This example is custom-shortened and sports four marks on the back and turf burns on the nameplate (Hamilton had an astro turf field in their stadium). A wonderful wearable, donned by one of the greatest play makers in Canadian football history.
