Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011

Highly impressive is this collection of blue Sharpie autographs on cards put out in 1992 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the epic Canada-Russia hockey showdown. These are not cards pulled from packs but rather a collection painstakingly assembled by our consignor over the years. Leading the way is the autograph of then Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau on a card picturing him performing the official series-opening face-off in Montreal! There are two of series hero Paul Henderson, including one with a "GWG 72" notation, with Dryden, Cournoyer, the Esposito brothers, the Mahovlich brothers (on the same card - nice!), Tretiak, Bergman and Goldsworthy among the highlights. Ten more Hall-of-Famers are included amongst the rest, with full details available on our website. Good luck with this wonderful opportunity. Other HOFers to beautifully autograph their respective cards are coach Harry Sinden, Frank Mahovlich, Savard, Lapointe, Park, Ratelle, Gilbert, Mikita, Perreault and Dionne, while completing the jackpot are the signed cards of Stapleton, White, Hull, Ellis, Parise, Berenson, Awrey, Seiling, Glennie, Johnston, Hadfield, Cashman, Redmond, Martin, Tallon and Guevremont. All autographs are bold and in difficult-to-hope-for-nicer condition. Thrown in are 75 cards from the same set, but without signatures.
