Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
The program, the tickets and the memories with this marvelous ensemble, brought back to Canada at the end of September, 1972 by the owner, who was one of the lucky ones to see the four games live at Moscow's Luzhniki Palace of Sports. Team Canada blew a three-goal lead in Game 5 against the Russians, only to fight back with three straight nail-biting victories to claim the ultimate series' triumph. The Game 5 stub has multiple light creases, while the tickets for games 6, 7 and 8 are full. A light crease down the middle of each, with one-inch tears at the left side of games 6 and 7 are to note, along with a smaller tear at the right side of game 8. The four-page program with insert is VG with some writing on the cover. Other goodies include a postcard and a schedule-like scoring summary of all eight Summit Series games.
