Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
For those who have yet to secure what is considered the holy grail of hockey pucks and for those who appreciate vintage pieces in striking like-new condition comes this shocking Spalding puck. This is the type used in NHL games for most of the 1930s and into the '40s, with this beauty featuring impossible-to-hope-for-nicer rubberized logos both front and back. Smooth surfaces and sharp edges and those gorgeous logos make it a treat to hold and behold while contemplating Morenz, Cook and Conacher rifling biscuits like this past bewildered goaltenders! Matched up with the gem is a lower grade box with some scotch tape repair, a slit edge and a missing bottom flap. Note that this is the version without a logo on the side and that it will be a dazzling cornerstone of your puck collection.
