Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
The 1914-15 Ottawa Senators campaign was the Ottawa Hockey Club's 30th season of play since its founding in 1883 (with some inactive years in the 1880s). After placing fourth in 1913-14, the Senators improved to win the NHA title, but lost the Stanley Cup 'World Series' playoff to the Vancouver Millionaires, played in Vancouver. This ancient studio-posed presentation photograph captures that squad including hockey Hall of Fame members Jack Darragh, Art Ross, Alf Smith, Eddie Gerrard, Punch Broadbent and Clint Benedict along with team mates Dolan, Shore, Merrill, Shaughnessy, Duford, Graham and Hebert. The wonderful and scarce piece measures out to 20" by 22" in total size with a photographic image that is 13" x 16" in dimension. Some water staining appears at the bottom of the original grey board matting but the photograph is in excellent plus condition.
