Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
This wonderful 1970s goalie mask was manufactured by Cooper and mimics Jacques Plante's Fibrosport process. The masks eyeholes appear to have been enlarged by filing. Fibreglass shows through where it has worn through the off-white finish on the bridge of the nose and around the eyeholes, and it is also visible on the chin of the mask. The original leather straps remain in place, complete with the elasticized web on the back. The minimal padding on the inside of the forehead remains in place in this unique piece of puck-stopping history, which makes a great addition to any vintage mask display.
