Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
Cool lot of four goalie masks features a pair of original Fibrosport masks, a Higgins-style fiberglass mask, and a Martin Brodeur replica. The Jacques Plante Fibrosport Magog, Quebec, Canada sticker remains applied to the front of one of the two vintage grey masks produced by the goaltending legend's own company. The Higgins mask is a wide white model while the Brodeur mask is a ringer for the living legend's Devils gamer. Please see our website description for more information. Both Fibrosport masks have straps and back plates and exhibit plenty of game use. The Fibrosport label sticker remains inside the larger of the two, which offers more protection to the top of the head and retains all five of its button snaps;
The second Fibrosport mask is missing the two bottom buttons. It has the padding inside the backplate but none inside the mask, which has a remnant of the Fibrosport label;
The Higgins-style mask appears to be a replica with no interior padding;
Brodeur replica Devils mask comes with all of its straps features Marty’s signature paint job, Heaton decals on both ears, full interior padding and CSA and HECC Certified stickers on the backplate.[red]Addendum; The Higgins mask is a replica of Rogatien Vachon Kings mask and was made by Don Scott.[/red]
