Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
Legendary puckstopper Lorne "Gump" Worsley used this Sher-Wood PMP stick during his very last NHL game in 1974, according to an ancient strip of cloth tape affixed to the shaft proclaiming the "Gump's Last Game Stick" notation. The Gumper rounded out a lengthy netminding career five full seasons after being dealt to the Minnesota North Stars by the Montreal Canadiens in a straight cash deal. "Worsley" and "1" are stamped on the front of the shaft just below the white-over-black knob tape job. Black bulldog tape is on the blade and paddle, and the stick shows good game use with no cracks or damage. This solid, milestone stick, handled by one of the game's best goaltenders, will fit nicely into a Hall of Fame stick collection.
