A fantastic piece from Dominik Hasek's early years of dominance in Buffalo, this combination Cooper SK2000 model helmet and cage mask comes from a Vezina season! The combo has been conclusively photo-matched to a couple of hockey cards issued during the 1994-95 season, revealing that "The Dominator" used it during 1993-94 when he claimed the first of his six Vezina trophies as the NHL's most outstanding goalie. Intriguing is this somewhat simple style that Hasek stuck with throughout his surely Hall of Fame-bound career. The "Sabres" decal on the front and its placement over a sanded-off "Cooper" helps photo-match the mask, while the helmet includes two Sabres decals and Hasek's number "39" on the back. Wear to the white paint of the Cooper logos has also been matched to cards. The mask shows nice game use with scrapes and scratches to the helmet, spots of rust on the cage and wear to the chin padding. Overall, the mask is in excellent condition and gets one to contemplating Hasek's formidable career, which has included three Hart trophies as the league's most valuable player. This example was gifted by Hasek to teammate Garry Galley and will come complete with a signed letter of provenance from Mr. Galley.
