Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
This sensational junior hockey relic comes from goaltender Marcel Paille, who began a four-year junior career with the Quebec Citadels in 1949. Tie-neck style jersey has a cardboard tag in the neck with size "46" added in ballpoint. A JAHA (Junior Amateur Hockey Association) crest and three blue and red felt stars are sewn on the front, with "1" on the back. With double-knit shoulders, reinforced big elbow areas and thick cuffs, the sweater is in difficult-to-expect-nicer condition with only a few tiny insignificant holes. Worn by a guy who faced pucks in over 1,400 junior, senior and pro games! Also included is a fantastic 20-picture set of the 1949-50 Quebec Citadelles, including Beliveau and Paille. A few have light stains and light corner wear but overall, in excellent condition.
