Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011

Chosen first overall by Pittsburgh in the 1984 draft, Mario Lemieux more than lived up to the hype as an 18-year-old rookie with the Penguins. Lemieux scored a goal on his first NHL shift at the Boston Garden on his way to a 100-point debut campaign in 1984-85, including 43 goals and 57 assists. This monstrous white-and-red Titan TPM 2020 stick has the "M. Lemieux" factory stamp on front of the shaft and a "Sep 28 1984" date stamp low on the back of the shaft. Nice game use shows in black marks galore and red and blue paint transfer along the shaft. Both the knob and the blade are still wrapped with Lemieux's traditional black tape job, with the tape on the blade worn through to display a clean and crack-free bottom edge. Great wear along the blade, which has been spray-painted black beneath the tape. Preserved in excellent condition, this historic Mario Lemieux rookie-season gamer is a keeper!
