Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
The late Tim Horton’s signature is among the 16 original autographs from members of the 1964-65 Toronto Maple Leafs on this vintage team-signed hockey stick. A key contributor to the Leafs’ Stanley Cup dynasty of the 1960s, Horton was posthumously inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1977, three years after his fatal car wreck. Frank Mahovlich, Bob Pulford, Red Kelly, Dave Keon, Johnny Bower, Allan Stanley and George Armstrong also signed, making a total of eight HOF autographs. Pappin, Brewer, Mahovlich, Harris, Pulford, Douglas, Stewart, Kelly, Horton, Keon, Hillman, Shack, Bower, Stanley, trainer Tom Naylor and Armstrong signed in order moving up from just above the band of three blue stripes low on the shaft towards the top. The signatures are in ballpoint along one side of the shaft, very nice examples and all clearly legible. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
