Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
Featuring two of the greatest ball players of all-time, and THE two greatest in the minds of some, this group offers a chance to acquire some low grade examples at a fraction of the price of high grade jobs. Two Mickey Mantles are Canadian O-Pee-Chee versions and include 1966 with pen marks on the back and otherwise VG, with the ’67 OPC at G-VG. The Mick’s ’69 Topps card has multiple light creases and grades G. Willie Mays issues date back to a multi, heavily creased ’55 Bowman (F), while Willie’s regular card (#150) from ’61 Topps (VG) and his special MVP card (#482) from the same set (G-VG) are next in line chronologically. A 1962 Canadian Post is rather nice with just an inch-long lower left corner crease to note, while a Deckle Edge card has pen writing on the back. Completing the group is a ’71 O-Pee-Chee (#600) with paper loss on the reverse and otherwise VG+.
