Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011

The Topps rookie cards of Wayne Gretzky and Ken Dryden lead this predominantly Topps lot, with a nice batch of Bobby Orr cards another of the highlights. We see Gretzky’s badly centered RC as otherwise NM, with a great surface and smooth edges, while Dryden’s is crease-free and EX. Another half dozen Topps Dryden cards all have a minor flaw preventing them to reach NM status. The nice Bobby stack of ten meanwhile averages NM, with his ’70-71 sticker stamp having had the border peeled off. A NM Gordie Howe sticker stamp joins Mr. Hockey’s ’71-72 Topps EX issue (OC), with an autographed card and a sticker stamp featured among (11) Stan Mikita issues. A NM ’72-73 Guy Lafleur Topps card is among 12 cards picturing Ti-Guy, with a couple of Bobby Hulls, a few Gretzkys, and rookie cards of Scotty Bowman and Pat Lafontaine tossed onto the pile. A fun 1970s bonus is a circa-1978 Mattel Electronics hand-held hockey game – cool!
