Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
One of the keys to the O-Pee-Chee company’s Series “A” set of 1933-34 is the rookie card of hockey immortal Eddie Shore, still(!) the only defenseman in hockey history to have been voted the NHL’s most valuable player on four separate occasions! A rugged type, a great leader and always a big threat on the attack is how the great Shore is described on the back of card #3, with this example having been deemed VG 3 by KSA. The green background version looks to be crease-free, offering a great view of the Boston Bruins legend, with rounded corners as the most notable flaws. A swell pick-up for a vintage/rookie card ensemble.
