Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
Killer images here, with the 1933-34 set of 12 team photos highlighted by the team of all-stars who played in the Ace Bailey benefit game, including Shore, Morenz and Joliat. Other NHL teams as well as champions of the Can-Am league and Canadian senior and junior hockey are present in both ensembles. The ’34-35 green border group is missing the Maple Leafs and Foster Hewitt, with individual shots of Conacher, Boucher and Chabot present. On thick paper stock and 8-3/4” by 11-1/4”, most are in nice collectible condition, with, however, a few pinholes. The majority of the maroon border set is in nice displayable EX-ish condition with at times light bends and corner/edge wear but no unsightly creases, with the exceptions being the Maple Leafs (pinholes in the middle top border), Montreal Maroons (a little paper loss in the upper left border) and the Moncton Hawks (creased and VG). As for the green border pictures, there is a pinhole in the upper border of Conacher (also creased) and Boucher, with four pinholes across the top of the Montreal Maroons photo. Chabot exhibits soiling, while a tiny tear is at the top of the Halifax Wolverines photo.
