Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011

What a wonderful array of colorful stars of the era, many of them pictured on their rookie cards, are offered in this complete 1933-34 ensemble from O-Pee-Chee. Cards have been definitely handled but not abused, with nothing making it to EX, rather G-VG, VG, VG+ and VG-EX being the norm. The key Howie Morenz card is crease-free and appears VG-EX but is lowered by minor paper loss (one of 13) on the lower back. Biggest of the other biggies are Shore RC (G-VG), Clancy (VG+), Conacher RC (VG+) and Joliat (VG). Key RCs include #6-Stewart and 12-Primeau at G-VG and 8-Clapper, 15-Hainsworth, 33-Jackson and 68-Thompson at either VG or VG+. Please see our website for more details. Still other notables are 24-Howe RC (G-VG), 27-Weiland (VG-EX), 32-Day (VG), 38-Bill Cook (G-VG), 49-Siebert RC (VG+) and 72-Bun Cook (F-G with pencil mark on the front. Joining Morenz with paper loss on the back and thus not making the aforementioned grades are #s 9-Oliver RC, 10-Horner RC, 11-Levinsky RC, 13-Bailey RC, 17, 22, 36, 39-Ching RC, 45-Worthers RC, 47, 60 and 61. All in all, a swell pre-war group with not many heavy, unsightly creases and cards that look to have had but one owner.
