Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011

Ultra-intriguing both front and back is this ancient trade card, with text in French on the reverse revealing that Huntley & Palmers Biscuits received the Grand Prize at the World's Fair in Paris in 1878! "Biscuits" is the French word for cookies and the long list of the company's varieties is on the reverse, along with a line stating that the British firm is known worldwide for its immense production and for the excellent quality of its products. And how about that dandy baseball image on the front?! The uniforms, the gloveless catcher, the stance of the batter and the way in which he is holding his bat are all thought-provoking. Encapsulated and graded Good 2 by PSA, this fabulous scarcity should garner considerable interest.
