Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
It was in the silver-mining town of Cobalt, Ontario where the town's "Silver Kings" skated during their one and only season in the National Hockey Association, that of 1909-10. It was actually the Silver Kings who met Montreal in the Canadiens' first-ever game. A former member of the Canadian Soo professional team, Jim Jones is depicted here in his striped Cobalt turtleneck sweater, with his rookie card having been slabbed VG+ 3.5 by PSA. We spot two light creases in the rich blue background of card #19. If this one has eluded you up until now, here's your chance to click and score.
