Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
One of the keys of the very first hockey card set, the coveted C56 issue from Imperial Tobacco, features the image of Lester Patrick, one of our sport's grandest figures. As a player, Lester was one of the top rushing defencemen of his day, as well as a team leader, and went on to become an inspirational coach and a highly-respected team administrator. Depicted in his Renfrew turtleneck sweater, Patrick had previously led the Montreal Wanderers to back-to-back Stanley Cup championships, with this example of card #26 graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Another desirable 100-year old treasure!
