The gorgeous vibrant colors of Topps' first hockey card effort always strike the beholder, with this set featuring a low grade Gordie Howe card, to go along with an EX-ish group that doesn't include very many creases. EX-or-better cards total (38) and are led by an EX-MT #60-Milt Schmidt. A few others are close but contribute to a stack of (14) at EX+, with (23) at EX. Also crease-free are seven at VG-EX, with key cards typically lesser. Eight at VG+ include 1-Gamble, Sawchuk, Lindsay and Worsley, with six VGs completing. Please see our website for more details. EX-or-better cards total (38) and are led by an EX-MT #60-Milt Schmidt. A few others are close but contribute to a stack of (14) at EX+ which include 18-Mohns RC, 35-McKenney RC, 49-Quackenbush and 54-Mosienko, with (23) at EX. Notables at EX are 11-Bathgate, 20-Gadsby, 26-Rollins, 32-Henry RC, 39-Delvecchio and 41-Stanley. Also crease-free are seven at VG-EX, with key cards typically lesser. Eight at VG+ include 1-Gamble, Sawchuk, Lindsay and Worsley, with six VGs, including 3-Howell and 5-Kelly, completing things. As for the Howe, it has light creases, rounded corners and evidence of writing on the front (a “9” down by “Howe”, an erased check mark under the Wings logo and a blue-ish mark nearby). A Howe upgrade would make for a rather attractive set – you gotta love those awesome colors!
