This magnificent personal Stanley Cup trophy was awarded to Pierre Mondou and commemorates the 1976-77 Canadiens' title. Widely considered the best NHL club ever, the Habs posted a record-smashing 60-8-12 mark for an astounding 132 points. They then swept the Blues to open the playoffs, outscoring them 19-4! The Canadiens needed six games to get past the Islanders in the semis before sweeping Boston in the final to claim their 20th Cup. Originally obtained from Pierre Mondou, this 1976-77 Stanley Cup trophy stands a shade under 13" tall. The team name and championship season are engraved on the barrel followed by the names of Habs executives, including Beliveau, Pollock and Bowman, followed by the players, including nine more members of the HOF: Lafleur, Gainey, Dryden, Shutt, Robinson, Lemaire, Cournoyer, Lapointe and Savard. Mondou's name is listed along with the rest of a stellar supporting cast including Bouchard, Larocque, Jarvis, Pete Mahovlich, Houle, Chartraw, Tremblay, Polich, Risebrough, Lambert, Nyrop, Wilson, Roberts and Lupien. Remains in gorgeous condition with easily cleanable tarnish on the back of the barrel. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
