This ravishing orange knit uniform was worn by defenseman Ray Bourque during the 1985 NHL All Star game, held on February 12, 1985 at the Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. What a team, Bourque and benchmates that included Mario Lemieux, Mike Bossy, Mike Gartner, Chris Chelios, Michel Goulet and Pelle Lindbergh for the Wales Conference roster that night. The CCM-made knit is tagged in the neck by CCM with size 54 noted in blue ballpoint on the label. The maker's identifier is also embroidered on the lower hem with an asterix up in one corner, a feature on many gamers from this season. The letters forming Bourque's surname are sewn onto the shirt individually (no namebar) and his number 7 is there below in two-tone tackle twill. Although the shirt shows evidence of washing and has a laundry tag in the neck, it does not show any game wear, typical of All Star jerseys of the period. This example was obtained by our consignor directly from a member of the Bourque family and will come with a detailed letter outlining the provenance.
