Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011

No other player could rush from back behind his own net up into the offensive zone with more speed, skill and grace than the great Bobby Orr. Offered here is a game used Victoriaville from the mid 1970s, with a factory-stamped "ORR" in black with the fading red "4" on the shaft. It is taped with Orr's distinctive spiraling grip in aged and browning white tape over black at the shaved, tapered handle. Bare untaped blade, as was his style towards the end of his career, features a custom twist and evidence of the use of a torch to add the slight curve. A factory code on the back of the shaft is difficult to discern but we think it reads "325", a number that shows up on another identical example we have offered in the past. Good use throughout with puck marks at the blade but no unsightly damage.
