Canadiens legend Ken Dryden had the Summit Series and a stellar 1972-73 season in front of him when he received this goalie stick from Sher-Wood. This game-used stick has a "4 Jul. 1972" date stamp on the back edge of the paddle and it may have seen duty during the Canada-Russia series. "Best wishes, Ken Dryden" reads the pencil signature on the front of the shaft, which has part of the stamped "Dryden" showing below Dryden's black tape knob covered with worn white tape. Solid game-used stick with a smooth bottom edge to the blade retains most of the HOF goalie's black tape job, with a few strands missing towards the heel. The edge of the toe has a light crack from aging. Whether Dryden used it to thwart the Russians or send the Canadiens on the road to his second Stanley Cup in three years, the fact remains: this is a game-used beauty that Dryden once used to lean on in his familiar pose!
