Wow... 35 team repairs! And that is just one sleeve. This hammered and battle-scarred red knit Montreal Canadiens gamer was worn by fan-favorite Guy Lafleur at some point during the 1981-82 or 1982-83 seasons. Lafleur is the all-time leading scorer in Canadiens history, notching 1,246 points (518 goals and 728 assists) in his 14 years with the Habs. He led the NHL in points in 1976, 1977, and 1978. He tied for a Montreal club record with Steve Shutt for goals in a season with 60 in 1977-78 and holds the franchise record for points in a season with 136 in 1976-77. Lafleur became the first player in NHL history to score at least 50 goals and 100 points in six consecutive seasons and was also the fastest player (at the time) to reach 1,000 points, doing so in only 720 games. He won three Art Ross Trophies (1976, 1977, 1978), two Hart Memorial Trophies (1977, 1978), three Lester B. Pearson Awards (1976, 1977, 1978), and one Conn Smythe Trophy (1977). Continuing our count, 20 more bullet-style repairs can be spotted over on the left sleeve with 12 more examples of the sewer's work on the front and 7 more on the back for a total of 74 fixes. A tackle twill name bar holds creamy letters spelling out Guy's surname across the back over his storied number "10" which also appears just above the top stripe of each arm. The Maska emblem is embroidered into the lower outer tail and the maker's tagging is there in the neck, a small white Ultrafil label with a paper-like size tag sewn just off to the side with a faded size 50 designation. The expected garter-style fight strap is firmly affixed inside to a rectangular piece of tackle twill and the team crest at the chest is also in tri-color tackle twill. This war-torn shirt comes from an era when Guy's numbers had slightly diminished but he still managed to post 27-goal performances in both 1981-82 and 1982-83 with his best points total coming in the second of the two seasons when he finished with 84 points. Will come complete with a letter of authenticity. Don't miss out on this opportunity to add a monster jersey to your collection, one worn by a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and the league's exclusive 500-Goal Scorers Club. Please take note that this item may be subject to a silent reserve.
