Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
A Forum red was said to be priceless but this beauty reserved for NHL President Clarence Campbell went for a staggering $12,000! This single red seat was sold in the March 1996 auction held by the Canadiens the night after their final game there. The "B" and "20" stenciled on the seat back identify this red as the one that served Campbell during his reign over the league, then headquartered in Montreal. The magnificent seat back portrait was added by the auction winner. A partially faded row letter remains on the back, along with a brief description of this Forum seat's place in history. The sale of Campbell's seat for $12,000 appears in the Gazette's front page auction story, a copy of which is included here with the paid invoice date-stamped March 13, 1996.
