Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/1/2011
From a Hall of Fame playing career that included contributions to six Stanley Cup championships in Montreal and then two gratifying Cup titles as a Canadiens assistant coach, come these nifty pieces. They date back to the 1960s and include mini Stanley Cups and a Prince of Wales Trophy charm. The latter is dated "1967-68" and also stamped "10K" and commemorates the Habs' first place finish atop the Eastern Division, thanks to a league-leading 42-win, 94-point campaign. The gold Cup features "14K" along with the maker's "AM" hallmark, while the other is in silver and also has markings. The other two mementos are from later years, with "10K" appearing on both the Canadiens gold logo and the woman's bracelet. The bracelet is from the 1986 Cup championship, with diamonds having been removed from the logo, which looks to have been put back on in haphazard fashion, with darkish glue/gunk affecting the inner band. The charms are all nice, with only some light scratches visible upon magnification. Quite an upgrade to a charm bracelet they would make! From a lifetime dedicated to hockey, the exceptional ensemble will arrive with Jacques Laperriere's signed letter of authenticity.
