Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2011

Marvellous mementos are these gold and diamond charms in the shape of hockey pucks and awarded to Jacques Laperriere for his selection to NHL All-Star teams. After capturing the Calder Trophy as top rookie in 1963-64 and being named to the NHL Second All-Star Team, the towering Canadiens defenceman was named to the First All-Star Team in just his second big league season, joining Pierre Pilote on the First Team, with the same two men repeating in 1965-66. In both those seasons, Laperriere helped the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup - what a fantastic start to a Hall of Fame career! The little treasures measure 5/8" in diameter and feature a small diamond within a star on the front, where crossed hockey sticks appear, along with "NHL All Star." Engraved on the back is "Jacques Laperriere," with the first one featuring "1964-65" and the second similar but having "1965-66" added. The second one also has two little diamonds embedded in the side, again surrounded by engraved stars. "10K" is stamped on each and they have survived in gorgeous difficult-to-expect-nicer condition. Jacques Laperriere's signed letter of authenticity will be included with these fabulous keepsakes.
