Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
Many hockey players take up lacrosse in the off-season, and Hall of Famer goaltender Clint "Praying Bennie" Benedict was no different. In addition to winning four Stanley Cups and earning the second shutout in NHL history, Benedict was an accomplished lacrosse player. This 13 ½" x 16½" image, set in a 21 1/4" x 25" vintage frame with beaded trim accent, comes complete with matte and features clear, well-defined photos of Benedict and his teammates in individual cameo portraits. "Star Lacrosse Club Ottawa Champions City League 1911" is printed across the bottom. The lettering is flanked on the left by a photo of the Chabot Trophy 1910 and on the right by the Chabot Trophy 1911.
