Pete Rose may have had a relatively brief stint with the Montreal Expos in 1984, yet he stuck around La Belle Province long enough to accomplish a feat matched only by baseball immortal Ty Cobb. Pete joined Cobb in the 4,000-hit club when he lashed a double off Philadelphia's Jerry Koosman at Olympic Stadium on April 13, the 21st anniversary of the first of his major league-record 4,256 hits. This number 14 jersey is identical to the Expos' 1984 game-worn jerseys with respect to the correct positioning of the slightly tilted Expos team crest on the left breast as well as the proper fonts and sizes of the sewn-on professional lettering and numbering. This vintage Rose Expos jersey has size 42 Rawlings tagging on the left front tail and a Rawlings size 42 Adult fly tag inside the left seam. It does not display the Rawlings tagging in the neck and "84" year tag on the lower left front that appear on the team's 1984 gamers we have encountered. This circa 1984 jersey, which has a stain on the front through the bottom left of the Expos crest, may have been an extra made up by the team as a contingency. Though its origin is unknown, it remains a fine example of a highly-sought-after Pete Rose jersey.
