Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Bruins, Canadiens and Maple Leafs nodders are featured in this lot of three vintage "high skates" style bobbing head dolls from the early 1960s. These dolls with distinctive high skate blades stand approximately 6 inches tall. Buds doll is very clean with a nearly flawless edge on the inside edge of its head opening and a tiny chip on the front top of its red hair an small chips on the top front corners of its light blue base. Habs nodder has nice vibrant colors with a small vertical crack on the left side of its face from the bottom edge to note, as well as a paint chip on the left shoulder and another on the back edge of its red base. Both the Montreal and Toronto dolls have intact plaster spring attachments, while the Bruins doll needs a fix where its plaster has detached the head from the spring. Slight flaws in both the "Boston" decal on the base and the Bruins Hub crest on the front of the jersey, as well as a chip on the left shoulder. The Bruins doll's head is in wonderful condition overall, with light chips on either side of the opening around the bottom edge.
