Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Lots of intriguing reading and Chicago Cougars' history offered in this lot, highlighted by two original WHA contracts. A three-year deal signed in June of 1972 features the signatures of Rosaire Paiement and WHA president Gary Davidson, (numerous addendums & bonus clauses), while a three-year pact commencing in '73-74 is signed by Darryl Maggs, noted sports agent Bob Woolf, Davidson, Jacques Demers and Cougars' president Walter Kaiser. Ten one-page Cougar tryout agreements signed by the various players, letters from league VP Jim Browitt regarding fines, letters from agents regarding contracts and one from Howard Baldwin congratulating Pat Stapleton for his purchase of the team, along with correspondence from files obtained after the team folded are also neat to sift through.
