A hard-earned Stanley Cup sits on Maple Leaf Gardens ice at the feet of Syl Apps and Hap Day in this original 11x14 team picture of the 1942 Leafs by Alexandra Studio. The Maple Leafs became the first team to ever come back from a 3-0 series deficit when they reeled off four straight wins against Detroit in the final to claim their first of five Cups in the 1940s. Billy Taylor, who had 10 points in 13 playoff games, signed just above the Alexandra Studio stamp in the bottom righthand corner. This magnificent vintage photo remains an excellent display piece, with minor flaws such as surface cracks and handled edges that do not diminish its historic significance.
