Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Splendid opportunity here is the chance to "score" a game-used puck from the inaugural Winter Classic between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres at Ralph Wilson Stadium on January 1, 2008. This special edition 2008 Winter Classic gamer was used during the first period, which saw Pittsburgh's Colby Armstrong beat Ryan Miller just 21 seconds into the game to notch the first outdoor goal scored in the United States in modern NHL history. Screened logos on both sides of the puck include the 2008 Winter Classic logo and the full names of both teams on the face. "Official - InGlasCo - Made in Canada" appears in raised letters with the NHL shield on the side. This official NHL game puck shows use with a couple of light skate slices, nicks and scratches. Comes with complete documentation from the NHL/MeiGray Group registry.
