Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
For those just tuning in, this is the type of puck that was used in NHL games throughout most of the 1930s and into the 1940s (1931-1942), and is considered the holy grail of the hockey puck hobby. Rock-solid rubber with sharp edges features two nice and legible logos, while the side is blank, as opposed to having a molded Spalding logo and "Official" on the side. Light to moderate use is evidenced by the nicked, somewhat rough edges, with however no unsightly chips to report. An important bonus is the original box, with both of its flaps split, but still present. Definite prerequisites to a Hall of Fame puck collection that forge images of Morenz, Cook and Conacher shooting and scoring!
