The 2008 NHL playoffs saw the Detroit Red Wings claim their 11th Stanley Cup while Sidney Crosby’s up-and-coming Pittsburgh Penguins served notice that their championship pretensions were for real. Another 15 Stanley Cup finals pucks come in individual round “Official Game Puck” cardboard boxes with clear plastic lids, including a pair of pucks each from Games 1-4. The 5 other finals pucks included are from Game 6, which saw the Red Wings beat the Penguins 3-2 at Pittsburgh’s Mellon Arena to claim their fourth Cup in 13 years. The “2008 National Hockey League Stanley Cup Final” logo is screened on the front of each puck along with “Official Game Puck” and the game number.
