Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
A total of 28 signatures, each in Cyrillic, marches down the length of this vintage wooden hockey stick recalling the greatness that was the 1972 Canada Russia Summit Series. Russian superstars Vladislav Tretiak and Valeri Kharlamov both signed, with the latter sig representing the money here as Kharlamov is one of the most sought-after international hockey autographs owing to his untimely death in the early 1980s. The autos, many with added player numbers, are almost all legible and uniform with a handful of darker marker ink ones at the tip of the blade that appear to have been signed more recently. Comes with a lesser-condition copy of the official Home TV program from the series, with numbered rosters, that will make player identification a tad easier.
