Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Amazingly, seven bucks was all it cost to witness history in the making as the NHL stars and the Soviet Union's national team battled in game four of their epic showdown in 1972. Offered is a lengthy ticket stub (1 3/4" x 4 1/2") from the September 8th game in Vancouver, won 5-3 by the Russians. The Canadians withstood boos from the crowd, prompting Phil Esposito's famous rallying speech afterwards on national television. Preserved in VG+ shape because of a few light creases evidence of feint glue lines on the back side from where it was once affixed to a photo album.
