Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011

Summit Series memorabilia enthusiasts will indeed be enthused about this Pat Stapleton Sher-Wood, used in the historic eighth game of the Canada-Russia showdown and brought back from Moscow by our consignor. She and her husband had the privilege of being invited back to Team Canada's hotel during the four games in Moscow, became friends with Stapleton, with Pat skating over to her after game eight and handing her his stick! Stapleton's number "12" stamped on the shaft was crossed out, with the "3" he wore in the series added in black marker. Date-stamped "8 Jul. 1972" on the back of the shaft, the stick has the original blade and knob tape intact and is solid without any cracks. Joining Stapleton's personalized (to Blake and Barry) autograph are ballpoint sigs of Ken Dryden and Paul Henderson and one unexplainable "Danny McKay ?74". Nice!
