Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Despite his late selection by Quebec in the 1988 draft, Claude Lapointe fashioned a 14-year NHL career. Featured in this lot of his Nordiques memorabilia are Lapointe's signed first NHL contract and the Nordiques jersey he wore at the draft after he was chosen 234th overall in the 12th round. A printed computer picture shows him wearing the size L jersey with a Nords cap in front of the NHL logo. Claude and Nordiques GM Martin Madden signed in blue ink on Lapointe's first contract, dated May 10, 1990 with league president John Ziegler's signature stamped below them. The attached addendum, also signed by Lapointe and Madden, states that he received a $15,000 signing bonus and was to be paid $120,000 in the NHL or $30,000 in the minors, with a variety of bonuses. A variety of Nords memorabilia completes this lot, which comes with Claude Lapointe's signed LOA.
