Late 1950s game-used Northland stick was wielded by Len Lunde of the Detroit Red Wings. Lunde caught up with fellow Edmonton Oil Kings alum Norm Ullman when he joined the Wings in 1958-59, contributing 14 goals and 26 points in his rookie campaign. Dating from that era, this superb vintage Northland Pro wood stick has "Lunde" stamped on the front of the shaft. It exhibits nice game use in the form of black marks low on the shaft and it remains intact, in beautiful crack-free condition. Len’s original tape jobs are intact on the blade and knob, which has a scratched-out number and “14” written below it, all in red marker. “Olympic Sporting Good Co. Detroit, Michigan” is stamped on both sides of the shaft. The black bulldog tape on the blade has puckered, likely from air entering by a gouge on one side of the tape job. This late-1950s gamer will make a fine addition to a vintage wood stick collection.
