Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011

Even if his brother Henrik won the Hart Trophy in 2009-10, Swedish star Daniel Sedin knows that Vancouver chose him first with the second pick overall in the 1999 NHL draft, one spot ahead of his identical twin. This Jofa game-used stick was wielded by Daniel at the outset of his career with the Canucks, who the Twins joined as 20-year-olds in 2000-01. Daniel’s original tape jobs are intact on the knob and the blade, which displays a fairly smooth bottom edge where the well-worn white tape has worn through completely. The stick is solid despite a crack at the bottom of the heel. Loads of game use is apparent in black marks along the shaft, which has “Sedin” stamped low on the front.
